I'm Alive!

Since my last post I have played a couple of new games. The new games include an older title and a newer than the older title. Yeah, make sense?

The older title that's older than the newer title (mind numbing) is The Saboteur, its actually an enjoyable game, I've had it well over a month(little gamerscore gained) but, I like to take my time with games nowadays. Not like I used to be, i.e. get new games, complete them as fast as possible and then have the cheek to say to myself, it's over. Yeah, it's obviously gonna be like that David. Idiot.

But really, I'm taking it slow now with games. I also Got Bioshock 2, which, yeah, you guessed it. It's the newer of the two. (bingo).

I played the first Bioshock, back when it was released and I enjoyed Rapture, it was something of a strange setting, but nice at the same time (underwater, just one setting).

Bioshock 2 is a great game, I say that because it's wonderful in every aspect, guns, perks, and colourful setting. It's nice what they have done to it. Slowly pacing myself through it. Multiplayer is another story though.

That's the new (old, haha) games out of the way!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, I unlocked the, play for fifty hours on Fifa 10, which I was pleased about. After 80+ hours. (I love ea) They are too nice.

But I might had Fifa 10 quitters, I can't quite understand why they bother playing a game, I mean, they will quit at the 90th minute, if I beat them, why? I will never get my 100 plus wins. I have won about 120 games. tut tut

I've got into the Arcade games recently, The Secret of Monkey Island, Feeding Frenzy, slowly working towards my 100 games in Battlefield 1943.

I also managed to play some Tomb Raider Underworld, only had 25points, finished up with 755. Which I was happy at.

Recap from last post

I managed to get 515 points in Red Dead Redemption, which was from a weeks rental at Blockbusters. I got 530 points in Alan Wake.

These past couple months have been generous to me. Nearly at 55.000 Gamerscore. Roll it on, hopefully with Bioshock 2 and The Saboteur, or maybe something else. Who Knows?

Upgrades

It's been two months since my last post. With that in mind you would think that I would have gained a load of Achievements, you would be wrong.

My last post was about me gaining achievements, as much as I could with the games that I own. I tried, but it just seems too impossible with the sun out there, I just want to be in it. So yeah, a slow last couple of months.

I did gain something. I rented Mass Effect 2 and enjoyed every little bit of time spent with it. I completed it once and thought another playthrough would just spoil the first experience(just an opinion). lol. I was happy to stop with 610.

I bought the last DLC for Fallout 3, I need to get back to that and kill it off.(Mothership Zeta).

I bought the last DLC for Saints Row 2.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll now go through the games I managed to gain points in (with the upgraded points in brackets).

Call of Duty WaW - 460 (505)

Gears of War 2 - 460 (500)

Just Cause - 255 (775)

Forza Motorsport 3 - 260 (350)

Beowulf The Game - 150 (420)

Fallout 3 - 1020 (1040)

Assassins Creed 2 - 715 (865)

Fifa 10 - 405 (455)

Grand Theft Auto 4 - 830 (910)

Game Room (100)

New Rally X (200) Easy game to help me get back into the gamerscore world. lmao

Defense Grid: The Awakening (50) Top little gem.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the games I have played the total gamerscore adds up to 4615(two months previous).

If I had up what I have gained from these few games the total gain plus any extras(arcades,DLC) equals 1495.

Which is not too bad, nothing special. Considering I haven't played too much recently, it's alright.

Im currently renting Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. I plan on completing Alan Wake, but Red Dead is probably going to be a future buy (hopefully, when its cheap). I just don't want to rush it within the time I have it on rental, only 1 week :-(

Alan Wake - currently stands at 400 (top game)

Red Dead - only stands at 10, but I 've only had it for one day and I love Alan Wake too much. I'll see what I can get in 6 days on that. lol

If you read my last post, you would have noticed I said I would post a few months later to see what I gained with the current games I own. I didn't let you down, if you too have a specific set goal, every month or week, feel free to comment. :-)

"The reason why I have listed all the games I currently own is because I want to see an actual list with it's current gamerscore, it gives me an idea of how bad I am at gaining gamerscore. lmao"

No, but seriously I've had something running through my head since I quit renting games. I want to see all the games that I own in one full list and gamerscore that belongs to it.

This way I am able to get an understanding of what games I need to try and better.

There are quite a few games that I rented that still have gamerscore to be had. But I left them out because I want to try and improve on the games I CURRENTLY own.

I wouldn't consider myself a Hardcore Gamerscore Whore. But I would consider myself someone who would try and get what I could to my gamer strengths.

Above, I have bolded out the games that I will try and get higher scores in, or 1000(maybe).

So for the next few months I will set this as a goal. I will then post the same list in a few months to see what I managed.

HD Update

Playing in Full HDTV is like having a newer model xbox. It's fantastic, playing Fifa 10 in HD is a spectacular experience.

"I have been playing 360 for four years now."

I have wanted an HDTV for the last 6 months. So I decided that I will save up for one. I finally splashed out on a Samsung, 23". Nothing too big, but it's the best thing that I have ever done, in gaming terms.

Left 4 Dead was a game that I didn't particulary enjoy, maybe it was because I didn't get to play it in HD. Left 4 Dead 2 is immense in HD.

I did some [PROTOTYPE] last night and it was fantastic, another game I didn't quite enjoy on a Standard TV. In HD, it is a fantastic experience. So I think that HD as given me a new lease of life!

My rant about slowly fading away from achievements maybe it was because I wasn't playing games to their full potential. And I will now continue to play games for achievements and enjoy it in FULL HDTV. A bit of a contradiction, I know, but we all do/say things we shouldn't sometimes in life.

March Update

Since my last post. I have played some new games.  Over the last couple weeks, I have been playing Colin McRae Dirt 2. Which at £8, was a bargain I couldn't pass on.

I borrowed L4D2 from my cousin. I was pleased to get my hands on it, especially for a freebie.

I said to my Cousin, "I didn't really play too much L4D", he replied. "Achievements". I was just laughing in my mind. I was like, "Yeah".

Afro Samurai. Which I played a few weeks back. I bought it for £7.99 at Game. I played the first hour and was bored.

I wanted something different. It was different alright. haha. I haven't been back since. This game reminded me of Beowulf. Not in terms of gameplay or anything. But just played the first one hour and that's it.

Other things I have been thinking about over the last few weeks is Heavy Rain. How I wished that I had a PS3. Heavy Rain loooks awesome. I love everything about it. "Hope they release it for x360."

Alan Wake couldn't come soon enough. I have read previews, looked at screenshots. I can't wait until it's released.

"Games looking forward to the most:- Alan Wake, and Prison Break."

What are they; achievements??

"I have decided that I will only play videogames for enjoyment rather than playing games for achievements."

It was getting to me that I was renting out games, namely crappy games for achievements.

I have agreed with myself that renting games as to come to an end. It did do and now I will play the games that I have never had the time to get to.

From now on games will be played for enjoyment rather than renting and rushing through them to get as much achievements as possible. Which is good in one cause but annoying in some respect.

I have realised and agreed that achievements mean absolute nothing and in some respect a complete waste of my money, if rented poor games.

However if earned with a decent game, it feels right. But if I rent crap it dose'nt feel the same.

Because of achievemennts I am cutting down on videogames, slowly fading away!

First completed game of the new year!

It's just a recap to let you all know that I got my first 1000gs completed game of the year, only 7 days into the new year.

Saw Videogame, a rental from Lovefilm, who have sent me quite a few games in the past and normally I would get a load of junk to be honest.

When they sent me Saw, I looked on Xbox360achievements.org(great site) to have a look at the achievement list, to my amazement I thought, hell yeah! 1000 easy, so I decided to write myself a statement on Trueachievements.com(great site). Another 1000gs on it's way to me! Saw! Lmao!

Anyways I didn't want to dissapoint myself and not get it, it took me two days, probably the fastest game I have completed to date, apart from CSI(way to easy). It was probably because I was hooked from get go! I gave it a 4/5 on Trueachievementts, this was because I throughly enjoyed what it had to offer. I liked the ending to the story aswell (well two endings).

If another Saw game came out, I will be playing it!

Saw there you have it, just a quick recap of my first completed 1000gs of the year. Hopefully many more to follow in the coming year!

Onto the GamerScore goal front that I setup. I am 64.3% through, which was set on 18th October until 18th February, just four months to get 10.000gs. I am past the 46.000 mark. Only just under 4.000 to go and I will have achieved my second GamerScore Goal.

The fisrt GamerScore goal was too easy for me, easy this was because I wanted to set something low, at the time I was busy with other things. It was a challenge in itself. But hopefully to get 10.000 in four months for me is an achievement. I let ya all know if I completed it or not in the next couple months... Out!
